One thing I did outside in the snow was try to build a snow fort. First, we tried to do one at home but the snow was too fluffy and it wouldn’t stick together. Then, we decided to use a tarp as a roof instead of the snow, using a metal pole to hold up the tarp in the center. But it was too windy and the pole kept falling over. We resolved this problem by putting snow around the bottom of the pole which helped for a little bit. Until, my dog decided to join us in the fort, tearing it down in the process. Also, it was way too hard to get in and out without having to take down the tarp and then try to put it back up from the inside. Eventually, we gave up and went inside. A couple of days later, we went to my grandparent’s house and attempted to build another fort. This time, we made a pile of snow and dug into it and this worked a lot better than our snow tent. However, we must have packed the snow too tight and the roof turned to ice and we couldn’t dig through it, but my uncle’s puppy did enjoy it because it was just his size.
